Why borrower reviews tell you more than a lender's own claims

Every lender says it is fast, fair and easy to deal with, and a lender's website is the one place those words are never tested. A review is written by someone who has already closed: they know whether the commitment matched the quote, whether the fees at closing were the fees that were disclosed, and whether anyone answered the phone when the closing date moved. That is why we point people to Google: the reviews there are posted by the people who wrote them, and we cannot edit them.
